Micronational business spotlight: MicroFlag
The first Mayor of Fifth World Community (5WC), the HMRD Cesidio Tallini, assumed office on 14 December 2009, and the 5WC is the largest village of the United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago (UMMOA®). The 5WC is made up of the actual real properties of three micronations.
Since 6 August 2010, the 5WC has become the world's first diaxenospitia, essentially a highly-scattered global village.
On 27 January 2011, the 5WC was registered with Google . You cannot register a business or organisation with Google without stringent verification of your address. This shows strong evidence that not only the 5WC exists, but that it also has a real postal or physical address.
You may have read recently that after a trademark sunrise in May 2014; after a City government-affiliated phase in June; and after a landrush phase in August; the new .NYC generic top-level domain (gTLD) came into general availability on 8 October 2014.
Unfortunately, "general availability" means that the .NYC gTLD is only available to any applicant with a verified address in New York City.
The City Hall of the Fifth World Community (5WC) is not located within New York City's borders, but we still did not miss out on having our own proper inhabited locality (or populated place) gTLD.
Besides the general 5wc.org domain, the 5WC registered a 5wc.town domain on 30 July 2014, and on 8 October 2014, the day when the first .NYC domains became available for the general public, the 5WC registered its very own, 5wc.city domain!
The Fifth World Community (5WC) thus believes itself to be the ideal jurisdiction to incorporate the real buildings and/or land you own, and the 5WC welcomes other property-holding micronations for expansion. Ummoagians can also incorporate their businesses in the UMMOA through the 5WC jurisdiction, since we provide the most prestigious micronational jurisdiction of incorporation (business flag of convenience), and we are developing in the direction of the jurisdictions in the "List of Acceptable Overseas Jurisdictions" of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited . In the near future, the 5WC hopes to also develop independent e-resident standards and technologies similar to those being developed for Estonia's e-residents .
The Fifth World Community (5WC) also promotes any verified and worthy micronational business!
While micronations may start for any reason, and even the most silly or childish reason, Cesidian political science [4, 5, 6] shows that in order to have a real and sustainable micronation, you have to build more than a club-like forum on the Internet. You have to create your own supportive clan or small business. So supporting worthy micronational businesses is a very admirable way to support micronationalism and the self-determination of all nations, even of the newest nations! If you have to buy the same or similar product from a fascism-promoting UN member state, it is much better to buy that product from a real and honest micronational business.
MicroFlag, a subsidiary of the Federal Republic of Lostisland, is the leading supplier of micronational and other kinds of flags, and they also make or supply flag accessories such as flagpoles, pennants, ribbons, T-shirts, caps, etc.
The Federal Republic of Lostisland, or simply Lostisland, is a new nation project founded in late 2010, and it had a singular advantage because Moscow, the city of residence of Lostisland's founders, happened to have a company that offers much more reasonable prices for manufacturing custom flags than most European and American manufacturers.
So you see, supporting micronational business can also support regular business, but it also empowers people, churches, and nations that share your same values. Moreover, one look at MicroFlag's Facebook page, and you'll realise that not only they have economical products, but the products are also visually stunning!
